University of Bradford Law Society

What to expect from the Law Society:

The University of Bradford Law Society is for all students who are interested in the law. We encourage our members to expand their general legal knowledge, hone their public-speaking skills, and to make an impact on the justice system. We will be holding regular social events, visiting courts and law/pupillage fairs, and offering internal competitions as well as entering teams in major national competitions.

Law as a subject can be very demanding at times so the support of empathetic fellow students can be very important. We provide regular social events throughout the year including including trips to London and hopefully to The Hague/Amsterdam. The highlight of the year will be the 2018 Law Ball, which will be shortly after the summer exams.

We want our members to be aware of the realities of a legal career, so we provide extracurricular events such as Q&A sessions, workshops and competitions in collaboration with national law firms and organisations such as Aspiring Solicitors, BPP, and Eversheds. We also provides opportunities for students to engage in Mooting, debating and negotiation competitions, as well as a regular film-club.

We are always open to suggestions for other events or initiatives, so please feel free to email us, or make your case directly to any one of our Executive Members on campus (Nahiyan Helal - President; Aqib Zaman - Treasurer; Valeria Mantziou - General Secretary; Amir Khan - Social Secretary) and we will do what we can to put your ideas into action.

There are many perks to joining the University of Bradford Law Society whether you study law or not. Follow us on twitter (@UBLawSociety) and join our Facebook group so you don’t miss a thing in what promises to be our biggest year yet!
